Key features

Key features and benefits

  • A new ground floor retail offering to activate the street scene and replace the existing vacant shop. This will ensure there is a strong local high street offer.
  • Up to 20 high-quality homes (1- and 2-bed), including two wheelchair-accessible dwellings.
  • A car-free development, given the site’s excellent public transport links, with the potential for a disabled parking space with EV charging point.
  • Contemporary architecture inspired by the historic parade buildings of Snakes Lane East, using high-quality materials such as dark red brick, light mortar, and white detailing.
  • Repairing the street scene with an improved street frontage, improved street layout that restricts illegal parking and new landscaping to enhance the public realm and create a more welcoming gateway to Woodford.

This is an opportunity to provide much-needed new housing and replace outdated, low-quality buildings with a sustainable, attractive development that contributes positively to Woodford’s character.
